You’ll explore the adventurous side of Norway on this amazing tour
Enjoy this beautiful country at your own pace
Arrival at Tromso airport where you will be welcomed by your private driver and transferred to your hotel. Tromsø is known as the Gateway to the Arctic, with the most Northern Lights in the world! It’s located in the middle of the Aurora Borealis (northern lights) zone, and is in fact one of the best places in the world to observe this phenomenon. One of the best areas around Tromsø for seeing them is Skjervøy. Accommodation at Clarion Hotel The Edge.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the whole day at leisure in the beautiful Tromsø. Enjoy the visit of Polaria: adventure centre with themes from the Polar Regions. Watch the panorama film from Spitsbergen, the arctic walk and the aquarium with arctic wildlife and live seals. In the afternoon, you will be transferred by minibus to the Arctic Panorama Lodge to start your Northern Lights experience. After dinner, you begin by snowshoe trekking to observe the northern lights. You will walk 45 minutes to a bivouac shelter where there’s a stunning panoramic view. From here you will have a fantastic view out over the Arctic Ocean and the Lyngen Alps. At the bivouac you gather around a camp fire and have a barbecue. There is a rich wildlife on the island so the chance to see a moose is relatively good. Accommodation at Arctic Panorama Lodge.
After your breakfast, you will leave the hotel for a dog sledding tour (hot refreshments included). You will meet your friendly dog team and be a musher for three hours. After dinner, a Sami evening takes place in a lavvo (a Sami tent) not far from the lodge. The camp fire creates the right mood for the stories of the Sami culture and history. You will listen to Sami stories from Uløya and you will get a taste of Sami traditional food. Accommodation at Arctic Panorama Lodge.
After the breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred by minibus back to Tromsø and will enjoy a whole day at your leisure in the city. At 5:30 pm, you will be picked up at the Radisson Blu hotel (350 m walking from your hotel) for a different kind of Northern Light chase. Today, you will be taught by a professional photographer how to catch them with your camera. After the tour (when possible) you will get a professional Aurora portrait. There will be maximum 7 people on this tour. A light meal and hot beverage will be served during the tour. Accommodation at Clarion Hotel The Edge.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will join a snowmobile tour. You need no previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is normal physical condition. We begin with a thorough safety introduction. The trail has a distance of 15 kms each way, 30 kms in total. The starting point is at 250 m above the sea level, and the guide brings you up to 875 m. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with opportunity to switch places during the trip. The top point of the trail is a frozen lake, where you can speed up. If time and weather permit, you can try out ice fishing on this lake. At the end of the trip, a hot meal in a lavvu (Sami tent) will be served. The afternoon will be at your leisure. Accommodation at Clarion Hotel The Edge.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport by your private driver. Goodbye Norway!
