Itinerary

Day 1 – Innsbruck

On your arrival at Innsbruck airport, private transfer to your hotel.

Then enjoy a Private 2 hour City walking tour of Innsbruck.

Visit Innsbruck’s old town and experience the exciting Middle Ages today. The old town is over 800 years old and home to many sights and attractions that reflect the city’s colourful history: The Golden Roof, Emperor Maximilian I’s splendid alcove balcony, bore witness to jousting tournaments. Lavish celebrations were held at the Imperial Palace. Ambras Castle became a magnificent feature above the city. And guards kept watch for fire, storms and enemies from the City Tower until the 20th century.

Innsbruck also welcomes the future: with modern architectural highlights. The gently curved white stations of the Hungerburgbahn funicular are a great example of this. Modern design creates places where people can relax and enjoy, raising the quality of city life. This can be seen in action at the BTV Forum in the city center. Olympic sports venues, such as the Bergisel Ski Jump, also welcome thousands of fans every year.

Day 2 – Innsbruck

Today explore Innsbruck and Seegrube on your own (round trip ticket for cable car Innsbruck – Seegrube and reverse included).

In no other place in the world is the dividing line between an urban area and rugged mountain terrain so thin. The new Nordkettenbahnen will now transport visitors directly from the city center of Innsbruck to high mountain terrain in just twenty minutes.

In the evening pick-up from the hotel by your private driver to go to the restaurant Sandwirt where a Tyrolean Evening awaits you including 3-courses-menu and 1 drink. Enjoy authentic Tyrolean music, Folk dances and “shoe-slapping” as well as typical Tyrolean songs and “yodeling”.

Day 3 – Salzburg

Today your driver will pick you up for a private transfer to the train station. You will board with you 1st class train ticket to Salzburg including seat reservation. On your arrival pick-up by your private driver and transfer to the hotel.

In the afternoon, enjoy Salzburg, the city of Mozart with your private guide. The Mozart City Tour will show you all of the city’s major attractions as well as a good overview of the city’s architecture and history. Retracing the history of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart you will learn interesting facts about the city’s most famous son. Mozart’s Birthplace in Getreidegasse, the Mozart Residence on Makart Square and the Mozarteum are tour fixtures. Then, you will visit the newly reopened Mozart Residence, on Market Square. Rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 4 – Salzburg

Super Saver Tour Sound of Music Tour + Excursion through the Bavarian Alps with a visit to the Salt mines

This morning, with your private guide, enjoy a wonderful ride with breathtaking views of the landscape where the opening scenes were filmed. Relax and listen to the original Sound of Music soundtrack. Your English-speaking guide not only shows you the highlights of the film ‘Sound of Music’ but also the historical and architectural landmarks in the city, as well as a part of the picturesque lake district. The highlights of the tour are Mirabell Gardens, Leopoldskron Castle, Hellbrunn Castle, Nonnberg Abbey, St Gilgen and Lake St Wolfgang and the Wedding Church Mondsee.

Then, something very different awaits you, you will visit the Saltmines. Past the hunting castle Hellbrunn you cross the Austrian-Bavarian border. Along the Königseeache valley, through the Bavarian mountains, past romantic farmhouses and the ruins of Obersalzberg – Hitler’s former mountain retreat – you arrive at the highlight of the journey, the 500-year-old Saltmines. Wearing the traditional miners’ clothing, you enter the mines and hear the historical as well as the legendary tales of the fascinating underground world. Using the same slides as hundreds of miners before you, you go down a 100-foot-long slide into the grottos, the magical world beneath the surface of the earth. With a raft ride on the salt lake and a miniature train ride we end our unique and educational adventure. Afterward you have the chance to regain your strength with some Bavarian specialties during a stop in Berchtesgaden.

Day 5 – Vienna

Today, you will be picked-up by your driver for a private transfer to the train station. You will board with your 1st class train ticket to Vienna including seat reservation. On your arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel by your private driver.

In the afternoon, your private guide will pick you up at your hotel for a Private Panorama City Tour with boat ride.

As an ideal supplement to an Historical City Tour you past the City Park, the Austrian Mint, and the Hundertwasserhaus on the way to the Prater Amusement Park with the Giant Ferris Wheel. You then see the Danube Island and the Copa Cagrana, the Danube Park, the Danube Tower and the United Nations headquarters. You drive further, passing houses where Albert Einstein and Beethoven once lived, as well as the Artist´s Colony at the Hohe Warte, with the residences of Alma Mahler-Schindler and Gustav Klimt. Highlights of this tour are the panorama view from the hills of the Vienna Woods over vineyards on to the city and the boat ride on the Danube River (returning on the Danube Canal) to the city centre. When the boat trip is not available: Ride up the Danube Tower.

Day 6 – Vienna

After your breakfast, you will be ready for a Private Danube Valley tour with your guide which will show you the beauty of the Wachau. Through this romantic scenery full of history and legends the Danube winds its way past charming old villages and steep vineyards. The old castles tell us about the former importance of this trade and traffic way, one of them -Dürnstein- especially famous, because here King Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned, while waiting for his ransom to arrive from England, raised by his true minstrel Blondel. During a romantic boat-trip the history comes alive. The heart of the Wachau is the old vine-merchants town Krems. To complete this day of highlights you will visit Melk, the “Cradle of Austria”, the magnificent Benedictine Abbey, a pearl of the Austrian Baroque. The tour includes the entrance fee to the Melk Monastery and a 3-courses lunch in the Restaurant Donauhof in Emmersdorf.

In the evening you will enjoy Dinner & Concert in Schonbrunn Palace in Category A. This package offers royal delight times three – a tour of Schonbrunn Palace, an exclusive dinner at Café-Restaurant Residenz as well as the grand finale – a concert of classical music with works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss at the Orangery.

Day 7 – Departure

After your breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport by your private driver.
