Day 1 – Arrival in Cairo
Arrival at Cairo International Airport where you will be welcomed and transferred by your private driver to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Accommodation at Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza.
Day 2 – Cairo
This morning, your private guide picks you up at your hotel, starting your tour with the impressive Cairo Museum of Antiquities. It houses treasures from the First to the Thirty-first dynasties including the treasures of King Tutankhamun. Then on to the Citadel of Salah El Din, overlooking Cairo from the Mogattam hills. Built in 1183 AD, it houses many important monuments, including the Great Mohammed Ali Mosque. Enjoy a lunch at a local restaurant and then a walk through the fascinating khan El Khalili Bazaar featuring a wondrous variety of goods. Then back to your hotel at the end of the tour. Day 3 – Cairo
After your breakfast, your private guide will take you to visit the 4,500 year old Pyramids and Sphinx of Giza, experience one of the oldest forms of transportation “a camel back ride” to the base of the Giza Pyramids which are considered as remains of a great civilization. You can take an inside look at the tomb of Cheops. The famous Giza Plateau also include Chephren and Mycerinus Pyramids and the Sphinx, Protector of the Pharaohs. A visit to the Solar Boat Museum is also included. After your lunch we’ll visit Sakkara to see the step Pyramid the oldest in Egypt and the famous Mastaba tombs. Continue to Memphis the capital of ancient Egypt, to see the statue of Ramses II and the alabaster Sphinx of the 18th Dynasty. Head back to your hotel at the end of the day. Day 4 – Cairo – Luxor
Today, you will be escorted by your private driver to the airport for your short flight to Luxor (1 hour). On your arrival you will be transferred by your private driver to board your Nile cruise ship. After lunch on board, visit the Temples of Luxor and Karnak with your private guide. Colossal statues, shrines and majestic obelisks, bear witness to the greatness of this ancient civilization. In the evening you will come back to the Karnak Temple with you private driver to attend the Sound and Light Show. Back onboard, you will have dinner on board followed by a belly dancing show. Accommodation on board.
Day 5 – Luxor – West Bank – Edfu
Early morning you cross the Nile to the West Bank. On arrival, your private guide accompanies you to discover the Valley of Kings and Queens where dynasties of Pharaoh’s were buried, you will visit 3 tombs and the famous tomb of Tutankhamen, whose treasures were miraculously intact after 3,000 years, not normally seen by the tourists. Then visit the Great Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari and more. Driving back through the plain you will stop at Medinet Habu to see the twin Colossi of Memnon, the enormous seated statue, facing the Nile. Return to the ship for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure while you sail to Edfu. In the evening enjoy the Captain’s welcome cocktail party, followed by dinner. Accommodation on board.
Day 6 – Edfu – Kom Ombo
After your breakfast, you will visit Edfu with your private guide including the superbly preserved Temple of the Falcon god Horus. You will use a horse carriage to reach the temple and go back to the ship. After lunch on board, sail to Kom Ombo. Relax in the sun or take a swim in the pool. In Kom Ombo visit with your guide the Temple shared by the two gods; Sobek and Haroeis. Marvel at the haunting carvings and mummified crocodiles. Dinner on board followed by Galabia Party. Accommodation on board.
Day 7 – Kom Ombo – Aswan
Morning sail the Nile on to the Nubian town of Aswan. On arrival, visit the High Dam, with your private guide, built by president Nasser to control the flooding of the Nile. Then travel by motor boat to the Temple of Isis rising of the waters of Lake Nasser on the island of Philae. Continue on to the ancient Granite Quarries and the enormous 170 foot long Unfinished Obelisk. Go back to the ship for lunch. In the afternoon, your private guide takes you to the international Museum of Nubia which houses statues and monuments from the time of the Pharaohs. Tonight dinner on board followed by a Nubian folkloric show. Accommodation on board.
Day 8 – Aswan – Cairo
Disembark after breakfast in Aswan and private transfer to the airport for your short flight to Abu Simbel. On your arrival, your private guide takes you to Abu Simbel temple, the colossal temple that was carved from solid rock in 1235 BC. by the great Ramses II. Beside the stands the temple of hathor which dedicated to Queen Nefertari, in 1960s, the temples were moved piece by piece 200 feet up to the hill to prevent them from the rising of lake Nasser. Go back to the airport after the tour to fly to Cairo via Aswan. Upon arrival you will be met and escorted to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure, perhaps some last minute shopping. Accommodation at Le Meridien Pyramids.
Day 8 – Cairo
After breakfast, you will be transferred by your private driver to the airport for your flight home.
