Eiffel Tower and more…
Paris was created 2000 years ago and began at the Cite Island (Ile de la Cite) on the River Seine. Notre Dame Cathedral is located here and you will enjoy a guided tour of this beautiful Gothic Cathedral famous for its flying buttresses. See the Marais District and the Latin Quarter. Discover Place de la Concorde, Avenue des Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe. You will then be taken to a prestigious residential area near to the Bois de Boulogne, before enjoying a cruise on the River Seine. Finally, admire the superb panoramic views of Paris from the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower.
The Louvre today
The hill of Montmartre is the home of Parisian artists. Many (Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, etc) settled here with their families towards the end of the 19th century. Your coach will take you to the base of the hill, then take the funicular to the top and enjoy a guided walking tour of the village and Place du Tertre. There is time to visit the Sacred Heart Basilica (unescorted). A guided visit to the Louvre is included, to admire its matchless art treasures, such as the Winged Victory, the Venus of Milo and Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.
Versailles anyone?
Claude Monet lived at Giverny from 1883 until his death in 1926. In the surroundings of his home, Monet created the famous flower and water garden with its Japanese bridge, which became his main source of inspiration. The tour will start with a visit to Monet's house to see his furnishings and collection of Japanese engravings. Naturally, the visit would not be complete without a lovely walk around the famous water lily gardens. In contrast, Versailles presents the grandeur of classical French architecture. The extravagant decoration and layout of the entire site reflects the character of King Louis XIV, the Sun King. Lunch is included toda
