3 To the End of the World
This morning fly to the southern tip of the American continent. There you will encounter an extended archipelago rich in legends and history, whose shores have been visited and inhabited by conquistadores, pirates, adventurers, gold chasers, missionaries and scientists: Ushuaia. Despite its faraway location, this is a fertile land of verdant forests, prairies colored by a myriad of flowers, snow-capped mountains, millenary glaciers and diverse wildlife. The rest of the day is free to wander the streets of the southernmost city in the world or visit the local museum. (B)

4 Ushuaia: The very End of the World. Check it by train and sail off
Breakfast and departure for Tierra del Fuego National Park, a fantastic natural reserve that changes its appearance with the arrival of each season. You will be transferred by car to an old ranch, Estancia Rio Pipo. Nearby is the train station where you will board the legendary Train of the End of the World, a replica of the original one, which was used to transport prisoners. Enjoy a lovely ride throughout the national park, stopping to observe an Indian settlement and a beautiful cascade. After reaching the end of the line through the impressive Bull’s Canyon gorge, we embark on a hiking excursion along the park trails enjoying the magnificent landscapes and admiring some exquisite views over Beagle Channel and Lapataia Bay. This evening you will be transferred to the pier in order to board the Mare Australis and set sail towards Cape Horn. (B,D)

Note: Premium Deluxe option includes A cabin at Tierra del Fuego cruise.

5 Legendary Cape Horn and Walaia Bay
Cape Horn, an island featuring cliffs of almost 425 meters high, was discovered on January 30, 1616 by a Danish commercial expedition organized by Isaac LeMaire and under the command of Captain William Schouten Isaac Le Maire. The Cape owes its name to the Port of Hoorn from where the expedition departed on June 14, 1615. Later we disembark at Walaia Bay, one of the most important indigenous sites in the region. (B,L,D)

6 Hiking in the Patagonian forest
When the ship enters the Garibaldi Inlet, we will try to get as near as possible to one of the most beautiful glaciers in our itinerary and observe the breathtaking mass of blue ice. We will also stop for a moment to observe the sea lions and wild ducks that herald our arrival. We disembark in one of the solitary beaches of the Garibaldi Inlet and start hiking deep into one of the wildest and thickest forests of Patagonia as our guides tell us about its flora, fauna and geography. After this unforgettable experience we continue navigating through O'Brian and Ballenero Channels, Bahia Desolada, Paso Aguirre and Brecknock Channel. (B,L,D)

7 Penguins galore at Magdalena Island
Located 25 miles north of Punta Arenas, in the middle of the Strait of Magellan, Magdalena Island is a natural reserve of Magellan penguins, cormorants and other birds, which peacefully coexist with sea lions. Here we will discover a rookery of more than 60,000 couples of penguins that come back year after year to nest in the same burrows. Between October and March they occupy almost the entire island, a unique sight. We will walk through the island along a marked path leading to the San Isidro lighthouse where there is an exhibition of photographs and information on the marine life in the Strait of Magellan. After our visit we continue to Punta Arenas where we dock at 11.00 AM and start disembarkation formalities. This afternoon fly to the Lake District. (B)

8 Exploring the Lake District
It is hard to describe the beauty and magnificence of the Lake District. Anybody who has visited the region will mumble at finding the right words only to realize that there are no words that can describe it. Let’s just say that this is a region of ancient forests of birch and myrtle trees crisscrossed by meandering pristine rivers and interspersed with lakes of myriad hues, so clear that the surrounding snow-capped peaks can’t stop staring at their reflection all day long. German pioneers started populating the district in the beginning of the 20th century. They built settlements along rivers and lakes, introducing their characteristic architecture and customs that still prevail to this day. Today we enjoy a panoramic tour of Puerto Varas and Puerto Montt, the main towns in the district, complete with a visit to the lovely Angelmo Cove, a traditional fishing village. In the afternoon you will have plenty of free time to stroll around the lake and admire the German architecture and savor the delicious sweets made from traditional European recipes. (B)
