Terms & Conditions

PRICES, DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS:
All prices are per person based on double occupancy and are quoted in US Dollars.  Single rates apply as stipulated.  Rates are subject to change without notice.  Once your deposit is received, the land portion of your vacation price is guaranteed with the exception of potential fuel related surcharges as charged by our vendors.  Maupintour Extraordinary Vacations (“MEV”) will always pass on these charges at cost in order to minimize the impact on the consumer.  However, airfares are subject to change at any time.

Deposits must be received at time of booking. Most Programs require a $750 per person deposit.  If a program requires a different deposit amount it will be specified on the Program page. Tour Cancellation Protection and Travel Insurance Plan fee is also due with your deposit.

Final payment must be received in our offices at least 90 days prior to tour departure.   There will instances (due to conditions from our suppliers) where a final payment or an additional partial payment will be due outside of the 90 days terms.   You will be notified of these special conditions upon booking your tour.
Bookings may be cancelled if deposit or final payment is not received by due dates.
Reservations made within 90 days of departure require full payment.
Tour documents are issued after final payment and sent approximately 3-4 weeks prior to departure.  Please note that E-Documents are becoming commonplace.  We will be sending E-Documents unless a request for Paper Documents is made.

A minimum number of participants is required to operate all escorted programs.  Guaranteed departures are based on meeting the minimum required number of participants, but can change subject to cancellations that result in the tour falling below the minimum participant level.
All other (than Escorted) programs are based on the participation of at least 2 travelers (unless specified as otherwise in the tour description).  Single traveler departures can be arranged at the discretion of Maupintour Extraordinary Vacations if available.
To ensure a relaxed holiday for all participants, most hotel barges request that guests be at least 10 years of age.  Some Galapagos vessels have similar requirements for children under 6.  Exceptions are made for groups chartering the entire vessel.  There could also be exceptions if Liability waivers are signed by the parents/guardians.

TOUR PRICE INCLUDES:
Professional tour manager: On escorted tours only, your tour manager accompanies you for the length of your escorted tour, beginning at the hotel and including on-tour flight or cruise portions.
Meals: Most meals are included as specified in the itinerary.  Meal codes are B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner.  Meals are a variety of a la carte, table d’hote and buffet.  Regional cuisines are frequently featured.

Gratuities are included on escorted tours for drivers, plus all expected tipping for luggage porters, bellmen, doormen, dining room waiters and sightseeing guides.  Gratuities are not included for most independent tours.  Please check with your Reservationist at time of booking.
For MEV Waterway products, your cruise includes accommodations, all meals and use of all on-board facilities.  Transfers from designated pickup point to and from the vessel are included on most of our offerings.  Some vessels will also include wine, alcoholic and other beverages.  Most itineraries will include daily excursions, others are at additional cost.  Please inquire with your Reservationist at time of booking.

NOT INCLUDED:
Transportation to the tour departure point and from the tour ending point, unless specified.

Personal expenses such as passport, visas, room service, phone calls, laundry, alcoholic beverages and optional activities.

Maupintour Tour Manager Gratuity: The traditional end-of-trip gratuity to your tour manager is not included.  Such gratuity should be extended on a voluntary, individual bases and not as a group.

Government fees which may include any and all fees, charges and taxes imposed by US and/or foreign government authorities – including customs fees, inspection fees, air taxes, departure taxes, immigration and naturalization fees and security taxes.  Taxes and fees are subject to change without notice.

For MEV Waterway products, airfare, airport transfers, passport/customs fees, insurance, hot air balloon rides, golf fees, gratuities for the crew, laundry or other items of personal nature.

TRANSFERS
Scheduled group transfers on international tours are set up for guests who have purchased our air/land inclusive packages on our preferred carriers.  If you have made your own air arrangements and purchased land only from MEV, you are responsible for providing your arrival/departure transfers.  On USA and Canada tours, unless otherwise specified in the itinerary, you must make your own arrangements from the airport t the first hotel where the tour starts and from the last hotel to the airport.  Note: Private car transfers can be arranged.

PRE OR POST HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS
As a service, MEV will make reservations before or after your tour at most of our first and last night hotels, upon request.  Reservations are on a space available basis and must be booked through MEV.  Charges will be added to your tour cost.

RESERVATION CHANGES
A $50 per person fee will be assessed for each change to a tour or air booking plus any additional fees that may be charged by our suppliers.  Changes in departure date, itineraries or passengers are considered a cancellation and a new booking.  No change will be made unless permitted under the terms of our cancellation policy, even if you transfer to another departure.

CANCELLATION FEES
Regardless of reason, cancellations are costly. To offset these costs, the following fees will apply.  If you cancel, non-recoverable expenses of our suppliers will be charged, plus the following per person charge:

TRAVEL & HEALTH DOCUMENTS
Passport and visa requirements, as well as vaccination certificates and other health requirements for travel between your home city and your tour destinations, may change from time to time.  It is the sole responsibility of the passenger to determine if any visas and vaccinations are needed.  Passengers who do not have proper documentation may be prevented from boarding a flight and will consequently lose 100% of total package price.

TRAVELERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS OR DISABILITIES must notify MEV.  Failure to do so will result in a person’s inability to participate in a particular trip or tour.

LIMITS ON MEV’S RESPONSIBILITY:
Maupintour Extraordinary Vacations, LLC is based in Weston, FL.  It purchases transportation, hotel accommodations, restaurant and other services from various independent suppliers that are not subject to its control.  MEV cannot therefore be liable for death, personal injury or any other loss that may occur (1) due to any act or omission of any such supplier, or (2) by any reason of any other event over which it has no control.  Our Tour Membership Certificate issued to each client after a tour is purchased, contains a more detailed information statement concerning the further limitations on the responsibilities of MEV.  If you would like to have a copy of such statement mailed or faxed to you, please request it by calling 800-255-4266.
Cruise itineraries and sightseeing excursions are subject to change without notice.  In the event that flood, drought, inclement weather or canal maintenance requirement by local authorities cause a vessel to not be able to operate as advertised, a comparable cruise program will be substituted.  On alternate weeks, some cruises operate in reverse direction, but may vary due to occasional closings on the waterways for unforeseen circumstances.
