Environs Tour
This morning take a stroll through Le Marche Express, the largest outdoor market in Northern America. Stop and smell and taste some of the local delicacies, cheese and bagels. Then, it's off into the countryside across the river for a visit to L'Orpailleur. Tour the vineyards, taste the vintages and savor the chefs' offerings during lunch. Return to Montreal late this afternoon.
On to Quebec
Late this morning board VIA Rail for a relaxing ride en route to Quebec City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its French charm. On arrival you are whisked to your charming hotel. Later, take a "ghost walking" tour (not a privatre tour) by lantern light with your costumed guide through the cobblestone streets of Old Quebec to hear colorful stories of murders, executions and mysterious haunting.
Everything Quebec
Private sightseeing of Quebec City. The old walled city retains its European character-narrow cobblestone streets, aged churches, stone cottages and turreted buildings. Then continue to Saint-Anne-de-Beaupre, first established in 1620 by shipwrecked sailors as a shrine. Inside, the basilica is lit by 240 stained glass windows, and houses a remarkable rose window, numerous art treasures, mosaics and bronze figures. Stop in Parc de la Chute-Montmorency to enjoy panoramic views of the falls, 1 1/2 times higher than Niagara.
