Arrive Cairns G'day, mates! Arrive in Cairns, a tropical city with tree lined streets and great shopping. You are met and transferred to the hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax.
Great Barrief Reef Join your Quicksilver cruise to the Agincourt Reef region of the Outer Barrier Reef for the full day cruise including a tropical smorgasbord lunch on board. Blue water and tropical fish surround you as you sail. Swim or snorkel in this stunning underwater world, or take a ride in the semi submersible for a close look at the coral and its residents.
Skyrail & Kuranda Train A full day of touring today to Kuranda. Transfer to the vintage steam train for the ride to the town of Kuranda. Visit the Australian Butterfly Sanctuary and take the Skyrail cableway traveling over and through the rainforest, the worlds longest gondola cableway. Then immerse yourself in Aboriginal culture at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Culture Centre. Transfer by private car back to your hotel.
On to Adelaide Fly from Cairns to the southern coast of Australia and beautiful Adelaide. Transfer is included to the hotel with remainder of the day free.
All about Wines You have a private car for a full day excursion to enjoy vineyard country of Australia. Travel through the Torrens Gorge to the Barossa Valley, over Jacobs Creek for fine wine tasting at the Peter Lehmann winery. Visit Torbreck wine cellars, a small winery with rustic charm and stop for a stroll in the German town of Tanunda. Lunch is alfresco under the vines or at Vintners restaurant outside of Angaston. The itinerary may change to accommodate special interest or seasonal highlights.
Kangaroo Island Your flights to and from Kangaroo Island are included. You are met on arrival at Kingscote Airport before following the track through tall Eucalyptus trees where koalas snooze overhead and walk in the bush in Lathami Conservation Park. Look for wallabies which are almost extinct on the mainland and a kangaroo found only on Kangaroo Island. Break for lunch, simple fare with local seafood, fresh salads and fine South Australian wine at a private bush location. At Seal Bay Conservation Park walk among Australian sea lions on a sandy beach.
Kangaroo Island Further sightseeing of the island includes Flinders Chase National Park, a vast wilderness which is home to kangaroos, wallabies, goannas, echidnas, koalas, platypus and many birds including rare Cape Barren Geese. Visit a fur seal colony which now number over 20,000 after being decimated by hunting in the early 1800s. The seals can be seen resting on the rocks or frolicking in the surf. Depending on the season, the afternoon includes Grassdale, the secluded pools of the Rocky River, or a rugged South Coast cove.
On to Sidney You are transferred to the airport for your flight returning to Adelaide. Connect to flight to Sydney, capital of New South Wales, maritime by nature and unsurpassed in beauty. On arrival Sydney, sightseeing en route to the hotel includes the eastern beaches and harbor suburbs.
Everything Sidney Visit Taronga Zoo for the Wild Australia Experience, an exclusive tour led by a Zookeeper and designed to encourage interaction between visitors and Australian animals. See koalas, kangaroos and echidnas, go underground to the world of the endangered Southern Hairy nosed Wombat and discover some of the mysteries of the platypus. Then cruise on Sydney Harbour, taking in all the highlights while you enjoy a sumptuous Australian BBQ lunch.
